According to a statement from the New York State Police, troopers responded to Downer Street in Baldwinsville on December 7, 2025, at approximately 5:50 a.m. after reports of a woman lying in the roadway.
Responding patrols located the victim deceased in the eastbound lane with injuries consistent with being struck by a motor vehicle. Police stated the original caller was a passerby who did not witness the incident itself.
Investigators later identified the victim as Tammy Langford-Michels, age 53.
According to State Police, investigators determined Langford-Michels had been walking from a nearby Dunkin Donuts around 5:39 a.m. Surveillance footage and witness interviews reportedly showed it would have taken approximately two minutes for her to walk from that location to where she was found.
Police say the investigation determined the victim was already lying in the roadway prior to being struck. Authorities also stated the evidence did not indicate the victim had been dragged a significant distance.
With assistance from the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office, investigators reviewed surveillance footage and identified the vehicle believed to have been involved. The operator was identified as Cameron M. Parry, age 28, of Auburn.
According to investigators, the operator cooperated with law enforcement and reportedly stated he was unaware at the time that a pedestrian had been struck.
State Police say the investigation was conducted alongside consultation with the Onondaga County District Attorneyβs Office. Authorities stated the investigation βdid not establish a basis for criminal charges under New York State law.β
Officials say the criminal investigation has now concluded and there are no further updates available at this time.
At this time, authorities have not indicated any additional criminal action related to the case.
