Who Owns This Platform

The Hillbilly Media is the public-facing media brand operated by TVOTT Hillbilly News LLC, a registered business entity in the State of New York.

We are an independent, for-profit news, scanner alert, livestream, public safety, commentary, and community media platform serving the Mohawk Valley region of New York and surrounding communities.

Legal Ownership

The platform operates under The Hillbilly Media. “The Hillbilly Media,” “The Hillbilly Media,” and related branding may be used as public-facing names for the platform, media channels, community reporting, live coverage, and digital products.

Legal ownership gives us responsibility for platform operations, editorial standards, business decisions, advertising systems, public-facing policies, and compliance.

Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions are made independently. That includes what we report, investigate, publish, update, remove, question, livestream, or comment on.

We are not controlled or directed by:

• Advertisers
• Sponsors
• Political parties
• Government agencies
• Law enforcement agencies
• School districts
• Public officials
• Outside interest groups
• Corporate media organizations

Paid visibility does not buy silence. Sponsorship does not buy favorable reporting. Advertising does not decide what questions we ask.

What We Publish

Our content may include factual reporting, scanner alerts, breaking updates, livestream coverage, public safety information, investigations, public records, interviews, community submissions, commentary, opinion, analysis, sponsored placements, and public discussion.

We work to clearly distinguish between:

Scanner Alerts, Live Maps, and OBS Tools

Scanner traffic is preliminary unless confirmed by officials. Information may be incomplete, delayed, corrected, updated, or changed as responders arrive and official details become available.

These tools are meant for public awareness — not final police, fire, EMS, court, or government reports.

Funding and Revenue

The Hillbilly Media may generate revenue through:

• OBS live scroller placements

Sponsored Content and Advertising Labels

Paid ads, sponsor messages, business promotions, classified placements, OBS scroller ads, and sponsored content may appear across the platform.

When appropriate, sponsored or paid placements may be labeled using language such as Sponsored, Paid Ad, Advertiser, Promotion, or similar wording.

Advertisers are responsible for the accuracy and legality of their own offers, claims, links, business information, and promotional materials.

Audience Support

Audience support, donations, memberships, or community contributions may help keep The Hillbilly Media operating and growing.

Support does not buy editorial control, special protection, guaranteed coverage, or removal of criticism.

AI and Technology Transparency

The Hillbilly Media may use AI and automation tools to help organize information, draft structure, format scanner alerts, support live maps, improve readability, assist moderation, generate captions, support OBS overlays, and speed up newsroom workflow.

AI does not replace editorial judgment. Humans remain responsible for publishing decisions, corrections, source review, and final output.

Corrections, Responses, and Public Accountability

We believe transparency goes both ways. If someone believes we got a factual detail wrong, they may request a correction review.

If an individual, business, school, agency, official, or organization is mentioned in our reporting, they may request to provide a response, clarification, or right-of-reply statement.
