According to a statement from New York State Police, troopers responded at approximately 2:49 a.m. on May 7, 2026, to a reported residential structure fire at 6213 State Route 5 in the town of Little Falls.
Preliminary investigators say four individuals were inside the residence at the time of the fire. Two occupants were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Officials stated that two additional occupants were transported for medical treatment. One individual was initially taken to Wynn Hospital and later transferred to Upstate University Hospital for treatment of facial burns and smoke inhalation. Another individual remains hospitalized at Wynn Hospital for treatment related to smoke inhalation.
The New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control responded to assist with the investigation.
Authorities stated that, at this time, there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the fire. The exact cause of the fire has not yet been publicly confirmed.
