According to the New York State Police, investigators determined Damien D. Bolster allegedly became involved in multiple verbal and physical altercations with household members during the incident on State Route 13 in Williamstown.

Police allege Bolster assaulted another individual, damaged property inside the residence, and threatened occupants while reportedly in possession of a rifle. Troopers further allege a female victim was strangled during the domestic dispute.

Bolster was arrested and charged with:

  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree (Class D Felony)
  • Two counts of Strangulation in the 2nd Degree (Class D Felony)
  • Menacing in the 2nd Degree (Class A Misdemeanor)
  • Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree (Class A Misdemeanor)

According to investigators, Bolster has prior felony convictions, which police say legally prohibited him from possessing firearms.

Authorities stated he was transported to SP Pulaski for processing before being taken to the Oswego County Jail pending centralized arraignment. Due to prior felony convictions, police say he was held pending a bail hearing in Oswego County Court.

State Police also confirmed a Temporary Extreme Risk Protection Order (TERPO) investigation was initiated in connection with the incident.

No additional information regarding the victims or circumstances surrounding the incident has been publicly released at this time.
