ROME, NY β This case didnβt stop at an arrest. It kept going β and now itβs getting a whole lot more serious.
A child abuse investigation involving two Rome-area men has now moved deeper into the court system, with both individuals formally arraigned and facing multiple charges tied to alleged incidents involving young children.
According to reports and official information, both men were arraigned at CAP Court inside the Oneida County Correctional Facility on April 24.
Bail was set during that arraignment.
One individual was held on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond, while the other was held on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
The court also issued orders of protection, meaning legal steps were immediately taken to separate and protect the alleged victims as the case moves forward.
And thatβs where this story starts to stand out.
This didnβt come out of nowhere.
Earlier this month, one of the individuals had already been arrested on separate charges tied to alleged child abuse. Now, just weeks later, the case has expanded β bringing in a second person, additional charges, and reports involving more than one child.
Authorities say the allegations are not limited to a single incident. Instead, they are believed to span across multiple events dating back into 2024 and 2025.
That raises the kind of questions people around the Mohawk Valley are already asking:
How long was this going on?
Were there warning signs before this?
And could anything have been caught sooner?
Right now, those answers are not publicly available.
What is known is this β once a case reaches the point where protection orders are issued and bail is set, the court system is treating it as serious.
This is no longer just a report.
Itβs an active case moving through the legal system.
TVOTT Hillbilly News is actively requesting additional records tied to this investigation, including incident reports and prior calls for service, to better understand the full timeline behind these allegations.
We will continue to update as confirmed information becomes available.
Reminder: These are allegations at this stage. All individuals are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
