NEW HARTFORD, NY — Now this right here… this ain’t your everyday kind of crime.

While most folks were asleep, around 2:00 in the mornin’, New Hartford Police spotted somethin’ fishy goin’ on over on Seneca Turnpike near Fresco Fish.

And no… it wasn’t just the restaurant smellin’ like fish.

Police rolled up on a suspicious vehicle sittin’ there in the dark, and when they took a closer look—boom—two guys inside with gear ready to suck up waste oil like they were runnin’ their own late-night grease operation.

Now some folks might think, “It’s just old oil, who cares?”

Nah… that ain’t how it works.

That oil gets stored and SOLD. Businesses make money off it when recyclers come pick it up. So yeah—stealin’ it? That’s straight-up takin’ cash outta someone’s pocket.

Police identified the two as:

  • Frank Gonzalez-Guzman, 31, outta Utica
  • Edinson Salcedo-Rivas, 25, also outta Utica

Both got scooped up without any fight. No drama, no chase—just caught plain and simple.

Their ride? 🚗 Gone. Impounded.

Now they’re both lookin’ at:
👉 Petit Larceny (yeah, still a crime even if it ain’t flashy)

They were handed appearance tickets and told to show up in New Hartford Town Court on April 16.

💬 Hillbilly Truth Moment:

Let’s be real for a second…

This ain’t no “oops wrong place” situation.

Middle of the night ✔️
Tools ready ✔️
Target picked ✔️

That’s called a plan.

Only problem is… police had their own plan too.
